I am currently employed as a tier 3 network engineer for machineLOGIC, a Denver based Managed Service Provider. Focused on server support and network infrastructure, I am currently moving towards a specialization in security operations. Balancing on-premise equipment and cloud solutions to suit the specific performance requirements and operating budgets of our customers requires me to have a full understanding of how each specific business brings their goods and services to market.
I have a solid background in SMB network infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers, Cisco and HP switches, Sonicwall, Watchguard and Sophos firewalls as well as a variety of managed wireless access points. My interests have recently pushed me towards IT security, including operational security and network/server hardening.
My goals in 2018 are focused around SECOPS certifications and developing codified best practices and security packages for the SMB market. I firmly believe that more and more SMBs will move towards a hybrid cloud environment as the benefits of leveraging Amazon AWS and the Microsoft Azure services help them realize their business goals while saving money and time on traditional infrastructure.
I love being able to work with multiple clients and gain experience and exposure to a variety of different networks and challenges. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow in knowledge and experience and applying that to current and future customers. Naturally, I am always interested in connecting with old colleges and friends – feel free to reach out to me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
